Nilupuli Perera

Quantity Surveyor (Infrastructure)

Christchurch

Nilupuli joined WT’s Infrastructure Team in 2012 and has worked on significant major projects in New Zealand. A highlight of her career with us has been the Christchurch Infrastructure Rebuild (SCIRT), with her involvement in the alliance formed to manage the massive horizontal infrastructure rebuild in Christchurch after the 2010/2011 earthquakes.

Nilupuli is excellent at post-contract management and consistently runs her projects to a high standard. Her ability to work autonomously, manage competing demands, and achieve the right outcomes is one of her key strengths. Her rail experience also includes significant roles on the Rail Network Growth Impact Management Catchup Renewals, the Trentham to Upper Hutt Duplication, and KiwiRail’s Electrix Maintenance Programme. Beyond the rail sector, she has supported a number of key infrastructure and civic projects, including the Wakatipu Transport Alliance, Avon River Precinct, Emergency Ferry Berth Seawall Repair, and various streetscape and public-realm upgrades.

Before joining WT, Nilupuli worked for the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau in Sri Lanka and the Housing Development Corporation in the Maldives, contributing to several major government-led initiatives. Her experience spans a wide range of civil engineering sectors, including civic and cultural facilities, health, residential, pavements, landscaping, arts, and entertainment. She played a major role on the Tele-Cinema Project Stage 1—covering the Film Business Park, accommodation villas, backlots, studios, cafeterias, workshops, common facilities, and landscaping. She also made a significant contribution to the Maldives Government’s 504-home development on the reclaimed island of Hulhumale, delivering progress claims, reporting, and programme management.
