Project Description

Client:

Auckland Waterfront Development Agency

Project Value:

$20 million

The upgrade of Daldy and Halsey Streets in the Wynyard Quarter provides a new urban landscape linking the Quarter to Fanshawe Street, Victoria Park and the CBD.  Daldy Street incorporates a linear park that included lawns, pathways, ‘water’ play areas, feature tanks, rain gardens and a variety of other recreational spaces.  The streets also form part of the tram loop and include works to re-align the trams into the new street layouts.

The works were carried out on a contaminated site and special measures were required in order to treat all excavated material and to suppress any odours which may have affected adjacent property owners.

As well as the development of the main project, we provided estimates for various other schemes connected to this project such as a new central park, a ‘canal street’ and several options for a new crossing from Victoria Park to Daldy Street ranging from an at-grade crossing all the way up to a land bridge.
