Alex Hampshire, Director of Advisory at WT, officially launched the updated New Zealand Construction Industry Council (NZCIC) design guidelines at New Zealand Parliament Buildings this month.

Now digitised through Masterspec, the NZCIC Guidelines Responsibility Schedule, previously known as the CIC Design Guidelines, has transformed from a static PDF into a dynamic, cloud-based online tool.

A noteworthy enhancement is the incorporation of Asset Management/Facilities Management Consultant in the consultants list, indicating advancements in Facilities Management collaboration. This crucial addition bodes well for further improvements in Facilities Management outcomes during the design phase.

Alex Hampshire Chaired the Review Committee and his expert knowledge and leadership steered the project into successful fruition. Alex gave an address at the launch event, held at the Grand Hall in New Zealand Parliament Buildings, and drew upon the whakataukī ‘mā pango, mā whero, ka oti, te mahi’, underscoring the collaborative spirit that brought the collective groups to this point. Key industry figures attended the launch event, including David Hall, the GM of Building System Performance at MBIE and the new Minister for Building and Construction, Hon Chris Penk MP, which was his first engagement in the position.
