education

We support all education institutions to achieve high quality standard environments to enhance learning.

WT understand the need to deliver value for money, across both the public and private sectors, and have experience across many primary schools, colleges and universities throughout New Zealand.

Our experience enables us to implement careful programming to work to tight timeframes and avoid any potential disruption to student learning. We have completed roof surveys, created asset registers, performed full quantity surveying services, and managed many education projects, specifically regarding weathertightness, seismic strengthening, new construction, and streetscape improvement infrastructure.

CASE STUDY: Lincoln University

WT have supported Lincoln University with programme cost management, a heating upgrade programme, and quantity surveying of the George Forbes building.

HOW TO SUPPORT POST-CONSTRUCTION MAINTENANCE WHEN THE BUILDING IS OPERATIONAL

Schools and universities require significant building surveying and maintenance to ensure safety of students. There are many, to name one, structural and building maintenance including roof inspections for damage and leaks.

To be able to manage assets and facilities throughout the buildings' operational life, we recommend an efficient and digital asset register to be able to mitigate costly issues, both in time and money, and instead maintain the safety and functionality of assets.

WHAT STANDARDS SHOULD A SCHOOL BUILDING PROJECT FOLLOW?

There are different standards which should be adhered to for different aspects of school or university buildings and facilities outlined by the Ministry of Education. For example, for school toilets and changing room facilities, there are standards to meet regarding accessibility, inclusion, safety, and more. This impacts the design of the project, for example, which signage to use.

We recommend getting in touch with us for a chat so we can provide tailored advice to your project and support you in navigating the complexities, standards and requirements. Enquire with our team to learn more.

HOW TO START A SCHOOL OR UNIVERSITY CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
