HOW TO MITIGATE RISK ON A LOGISTICS AND MANUFACTURING PROJECT

To mitigate risk on a logistics and manufacturing project, robust quantity surveying and cost management are essential. Our team proactively identifies potential areas of financial exposure and provides strategic advice to control downstream costs. This approach helps ensure budget adherence without compromising project value, allowing for informed decision-making and reducing unforeseen expenses throughout the project life cycle.

WHAT RECOMMENDATIONS AND REPORTS DO QUANTITY SURVEYORS PROVIDE AT WT

Within construction cost management, below are a selection of potential reports provided by quantity surveyors:

▪ Preparation of monthly Payment Recommendations to allow the contract administrator to certify Payment Claims made by contractors
▪ Assessment and agreement of Variations, either proposed or claimed by the contractor
▪ Monthly financial reporting and budget monitoring, including work in progress, cost to complete, and contingency management and forecasting
▪ Cashflow forecasting and monitoring
▪ Provisional sum assessments, monitoring and verification.

HOW PROJECT MANAGERS MANAGE PROJECT DELIVERY

To provide our clients with peace of mind, each project is led by a project director with increased support during complex stages of the project or to develop strategic delivery models, such as staged handover and mitigating business interruption. Our project managers will drive the project, consultants and the contractor to ensure that project safety, quality, programme, and budget are adhered to. Through robust document control, our formal reports will provide the client accurate project status updates and highlight any early project risks that can be addressed, avoiding unnecessary surprises.
